One day my granddaughter was chasing her Barbie around with a toy cheeseburger, shouting, “It’s going to eat you!” We both found it hilarious.
And that was the spark. What if everyday things weren’t quite as innocent as they looked? What if your burger could bite back? What if food, household objects and all sorts of ordinary things had teeth, personalities and some seriously bad habits?
That silly moment became the beginning of The Oddlings.
MADE TOGETHER
Two generations. One very strange idea.
Since then, this has become a project my granddaughter and I have worked on together — coming up with characters, names, personalities and increasingly ridiculous ideas. And we have had mega fun doing it.
We’ve laughed a lot, learned a lot and probably created far too many things with enormous teeth.
We’ve had some help from AI along the way because, well... I’m old :)
Learning how to use it has actually become part of the project. It has helped us explore ideas, learn new skills and turn some of the madness in our heads into things we can actually create and 3D print.
I’ve learned things I never expected to learn, my granddaughter has learned alongside me, and getting to do all of this together is what makes The Oddlings special to me.
PRINT THEM. PAINT THEM. MAKE A MESS.
They’re not meant to live on a screen.
The Oddlings are made to be downloaded, 3D printed, painted and enjoyed together. Get the paints out, put something on the table to protect it — probably a good idea — and let everyone create their own version. There is no correct way to paint an Oddling.
If these strange little monsters can get another family sitting around a table, laughing, painting and making something together, then they’ve done exactly what we hoped they would.

Every Oddling model will be free to download. We want people to print them, paint them, share them and have some fun with them. That’s the whole point.
If someone really enjoys what we’re creating and wants to help us keep the printers running and the next collection coming, there’ll be a little option to support the project with a donation. Completely optional, always appreciated, and never required.

We’ve already got ideas for more collections, more characters and plenty more things that probably shouldn’t have teeth.
We don’t know exactly how big The Oddlings will become. But we do know we’re having far too much fun to stop now.
